Middle Myth

A massive, multi-touch point, remote performance creating a shared narrative for the entire Seward neighborhood of MPLS.

I received the Emerging Artists Planning Grant from Forecast Public Arts to design and plan this massive, immersive performance.

Seeking to create a shared community mythology that inspired live conversation from residents was our primary goal.

We designed several different touchpoint paths for residents to interact with: letters from the moon, packages from the squirrel, secret local radio, tiny sculptures and a mythical symbology.

We prototyped our "letters from the moon" path over several weeks, dropping messages from the moon onto their front walkways literally before the crack of dawn.  We tracked if residents picked up these deliveries within 24 hours.

We mapped out potential partnerships for full-realization as well as a timeline for a one year implementation.

New Moon Tonight

4.5 billion years ago, the moon left the Earth. Sometimes little pieces break off and try to make it back home.
